About Dr. Rupert

Dr. Avis Winifred Rupert holds a doctorate in Rhetoric and Writing from Bowling Green State University. Additionally, she’s earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and three graduate degrees in Composition Studies, Organizational Management, and Biblical Studies. When Dr. Rupert initially diverted from managerial roles to higher education positions, she became impassioned about her growth and that of others, regardless of the arena. Thus, her journey exemplifies a life that lives beyond the boundaries of a traditional plot line.

The latter is clearly exemplified in her travel to 21 countries to date, preaching in Namibia Africa and the United States, teaching in a Rome Studies Program, directing a leadership institute in Morocco, engaging in a study abroad program in Turkey, participating in a Senegal West Africa Fulbright, and developing a Christian mini retreat for women based off of her book publications.

Currently creating and delivering rigorous English instruction with a focus on enhancing critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills among diverse student populations, Dr. Rupert’s pedagogical strategies include attention to writing processes, academic discourse development, collaborative projects, journaling, and theme driven inspiration. There is a consistent commitment to student growth and instructional excellence. Teaching Dual Credit and Advance Placement not only honors Dr. Rupert’s diverse background by investing in future generations but the setting provides a dynamic space for continuous learning and growth. Besides teaching, investing in self-development, writing, and encouraging others, Dr. Rupert enjoys travel, developing new partnerships, exploring new opportunities, and spending time with her son’s family.
